Situated in breathtakingly beautiful Rupshu Valley, the high-altitude Tso Moriri Lake is fewer than 155 miles (250 kilometers) southeast of Leh. Surrounded by lofty mountains, this serene lake attracts a range of wildlife, including migratory birds, marmots, wild asses, Tibetan wolves and much more.

Itinerary

• Day 1 Leh Arrival

  Arrival in Leh by morning flight and transfer to the hotel. After welcome drink take complete rest for acclimatization to the height altitude of Leh (3500 mtrs). In the late afternoon drive to the city for an orientation walk in the markets, followed by a visit to Shanti Stupa, Leh Palace and Sankar monastery. Dinner and overnight stay is in Hotel.

• Day 2Explore Leh

  The morning is at leisure for adjustment to the height altitude and rarefied air Ladakh. After leisurely, visit Shey, Thiksey monastery, Hemis monastery and Stok Palace Museum. Overnight at he Hotel.

• Day 3Chumathang – Tso Moriri

  In the morning leave for Chumathang stop, which is famous for medical hot spring and people visit this place for medical bath. From here a short drive will take you to Mahay bridge, the main checking point to enter to this new area. On the way visit Sumdah village and another 55 kms drive will take you to Tsomoriri. The Tsomoriri Lake is the breeding ground for numerous species of birds, like the Bar Headed Goose, Crested Grebe, The Brahmini Duck (ruddy Sheldrake) and the Brown-Headed Gull. The Tsomoriri Lake is 8 kms wide and 28 kms long. Spend the night there in the tent.

• Day 4Korzok

  In the morning visit Korzok village. In the afternoon stroll around the lake. Have dinner and spend the night in the tent.

• Day 5Tsokar – Taglangla

  In the morning, drive back to Puga Sumdo and then take left road to the PoloKonka (4920 mtrs), a long and wide tabletop pass. Upon descending to its base, one can see the salt lake system called Tsokar from the distance on account of the white salt around it. After lunch and sightseeing here, drive to Leh, crossing Taglang-La (alt: 17,585 ft.) en-route. Dinner and night in the Hotel.

• Day 6Nubra Valley

  After early breakfast, leave for Nubra Valley, driving across Khardong – La (alt: 18,380 ft. – highest motorable pass in the world). After descending in the valley, drive on to Tirith and check into fixed camp. Post lunch, you can go on sightseeing around Summor village, including Samstanling monastery. Dinner and overnight is in the camp.

• Day 7Deskit – Leh

  In the morning drive to Deskit (Headquarters of Nubra) and visit Deskit, Hundar and the Sand Dunes. Later, drive back to Leh, reaching in the late afternoon. Rest of the day to explore the markets. Dinner and overnight at Hotel.

• Day 8Alchi Monastery, Magnetic Hill, Likir Monastery

  After breakfast full day sightseeing at Alchi monastery enroute visit Magnetic hill, Sangam and Likir monastery. Dinner and overnight at Hotel.

• Day 9Departure

  This day is for departure. Hope you enjoyed the Leh Ladakh tour package to the fullest.
